For a few weeks now, there were unconfirmed reports that Thierry
Henry’s loan deal to Arsenal – his third return to the club – had been
sealed. The club’s legend, has been training with the current squad in
London for a while now, and it was believed the deal would be made
official in January.
But Red Bulls Head of Global Soccer, Gerrard Houllier, who has
managed Liverpool and Aston Villa in England, has said he does not think
the 35-year-old will return to the Emirates.
“I find it strange what we hear in the media. If Arsene needed him,
he would have called me or [sporting director] Andy Roxburgh, but this
is not the case,” he told Canal Plus.
“I do not think both parties need to have this second comeback.
Moreover, he has become a dad again. I think he will appreciate this
truce.”
