When they aren’t in front of the camera, some of the most successful
actresses in Nollywood are mothers. Let’s take a look at nine of
Nollywood’s hottest moms.
Omotola Jalade Ekeinde
Omotola tops any list of Nollywood beauties, this mother of four is
still one of the sexiest actresses in Nigeria. She has starred in
several Nollywood movies, she is a singer and also has a reality TV
show. We are wondering… Where does she find the time?
Grace Amah
In 2011, Nollywood actress Grace Amah took a sabbatical in order to
give birth. She was open about the fact that she regretted having a baby
out of wedlock, but the beautiful actress has recently been the subject
of reports saying she will marry the UK-based father of her son.
Omoni Oboli
The radiant actress has been married for 12 years and has three sons.
She is the star of several Nollywood movies and her busy schedule
didn’t stop her from landing a major endorsement deal with Venus. She is
a multiple award-winner (Los Angeles Movie Awards; Harlem International
Film Festival) and has been nominated for several other awards.
Mercy Johnson
Mercy Johnson only became a mom few months ago (her daughter Purity
was born on 30 December 2012), but she was a shoe-in for the list of
sexiest Nollywood moms. One of Nigeria’s most famous and popular
actresses, Johnson gave birth in the US before flying home to receive
Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Award three months later.
Monalisa Chinda
The divorced Nollywood star has one child, a five-year-old daughter
from her marriage. The unconventional looking star makes the ‘sexiest’
list for her bold confidence and her unerring fashion sense.
Jackie Appiah
Married since 2005, the Ghanaian beauty has one son. Appiah started
her career on TV, but soon made the jump to films. She is one of the
most famous actresses in West Africa and her beautiful face graces
billboards across Ghana. Appiah recently won the award for Best Actress
in a Drama at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards.
Bukky Wright
It is difficult to believe the beautiful Yoruba screen-queen is the
mother to grown-up children, because her sons are men. One of them,
Ojayy is at the beginning of a fledgling rap career and looks set to
becoming a star in his own right.
Stella Damasus
Nollywood beauty Stella Damasus was left a widow with two young kids
when her husband passed away in 2004. She started acting in 1996, and
has since made over 50 Nollywood titles and has been nominated for a
best actress award. Her sons are in their early teens and Damasus has
stated in interviews that she has eased up on acting in order to support
them.
Oge Okoye
Igbo actress Oge Okoye has put her degree in Theatre Arts to good
use, starring in scores of movies. The London-born beauty is mother to
two children, her husband Stanley Duru is from Imo State. The two were
married in 2005 and she gave birth in the UK to ensure British
citizenship for her children.
